Simple Browned Butter Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, brown the butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown and smells nutty.
  3. In a bowl, combine the brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and pecans.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
  9. Allow to cool before enjoying.

Notes

To store, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe bag for up to three months. Watch the butter closely while browning to avoid burning.
