- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- Orange food coloring
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- Halloween sprinkles (optional)
- 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a Bundt pan well.
- 2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- 3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- 4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in sour cream, milk, and vanilla.
- 5. Gradually add dry ingredients until combined.
- 6. Divide batter in half — stir cocoa powder into one half and orange food coloring into the other.
- 7. Alternate spoonfuls of each batter into the Bundt pan, then swirl lightly with a knife.
- 8. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- 9. Cool completely before drizzling with glaze.
- 10. Mix powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze; pour over the cooled cake and top with Halloween sprinkles.
Notes
- For deeper color, use gel food coloring.
- Make ahead: bake the cake a day early and glaze before serving.
