  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • Orange food coloring
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • Halloween sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a Bundt pan well.
  • 2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  • 4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in sour cream, milk, and vanilla.
  • 5. Gradually add dry ingredients until combined.
  • 6. Divide batter in half — stir cocoa powder into one half and orange food coloring into the other.
  • 7. Alternate spoonfuls of each batter into the Bundt pan, then swirl lightly with a knife.
  • 8. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • 9. Cool completely before drizzling with glaze.
  • 10. Mix powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze; pour over the cooled cake and top with Halloween sprinkles.

Notes

  • For deeper color, use gel food coloring.
  • Make ahead: bake the cake a day early and glaze before serving.
