Starbucks Cheese Danish Copycat: Perfect Flaky Pastry at Home

Perfect homemade Starbucks cheese danish copycat with flaky puff pastry and creamy cheese filling. Costs 75% less than store-bought!

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed,
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened,
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar,
  • 1 large egg yolk,
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract,
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour,
  • 1 pinch salt,
  • 1 large egg, beaten,
  • 1 tablespoon whole milk

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut puff pastry into 4-inch squares and score 1/2-inch border.
  • Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, vanilla, flour, and salt until smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Place 2 tablespoons filling in center of each pastry square. Brush borders with egg wash.
  • Bake 15-18 minutes until golden brown and filling is set. Cool 5 minutes before serving.
