Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare cake pans.
  2. Combine the softened butter and granulated sugar; cream until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.

  6. Divide the batter evenly among prepared cake pans.

  9. Beat heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
