Tirokafteri (Greek Spicy Feta Dip) Recipe

Tirokafteri is a bold and creamy Greek spicy feta dip made with tangy feta cheese, roasted red peppers, olive oil, and chili heat. Perfect as a mezze with warm pita, grilled meats, or vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup roasted red peppers (jarred or homemade)
  • 12 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1/21 tsp chili flakes or chili paste (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: 1–2 tbsp Greek yogurt for extra creaminess

Instructions

  • 1. Add feta cheese and roasted red peppers to a food processor.
  • 2. Add olive oil, vinegar or lemon juice, chili flakes, and black pepper.
  • 3. Blend until mostly smooth with a slightly chunky texture.
  • 4. Taste and adjust spice, acidity, or olive oil as needed.
  • 5. (Optional) Blend in Greek yogurt for a milder, creamier dip.
  • 6. Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
  • 7. Serve with pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • Let the dip sit 15 minutes before serving for best flavor.
  • Use fresh chili instead of flakes for extra heat.
  • Store leftovers refrigerated up to 3 days.
