Beef Empanadas

Delicious beef empanadas filled with savory ground beef, cheese, and spices, perfect for parties or family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Empanada dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook the onion and garlic in a skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Brown the beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the spices and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Mix in the cheese, allowing it to melt slightly.
  6. Prepare the dough by rolling it out and cutting into circles.
  7. Fill each circle with a spoonful of the beef mixture.
  8. Seal the empanadas tightly and crimp the edges.
  9. Brush the tops with egg wash.
  10. Bake on a lined baking sheet for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Serve with dipping sauces like salsa or sour cream. Can be refrigerated for 2-3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
