  • 12 oz bowtie pasta
  • 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • 1. Cook bowtie pasta in salted water according to package instructions; reserve 1/2 cup pasta water and drain.
  • 2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • 3. Season chicken with Cajun seasoning and add to skillet.
  • 4. Cook until chicken is browned and cooked through; remove and set aside.
  • 5. In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  • 6. Stir in heavy cream and cream cheese, whisking until smooth.
  • 7. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until sauce thickens.
  • 8. Return chicken to the skillet and mix well.
  • 9. Add cooked pasta and reserved pasta water as needed to loosen sauce.
  • 10. Season with salt and pepper, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Adjust Cajun seasoning to control heat level.
  • Shrimp can be substituted for chicken for a seafood twist.
  • Leftovers reheat best with a splash of cream or milk.
