Chocolate Chip Cruffins

A delightful combination of croissants and muffins, these Chocolate Chip Cruffins are perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your muffin tin.
  2. Mix the all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold, cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the milk and vanilla extract, and mix gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in the mini chocolate chips with a spatula.
  6. Layer the dough in the greased muffin tin, creating flaky layers.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally with melted chocolate drizzled on top or a dusting of powdered sugar.
