Chocolate Macaroon Tart

A decadent dessert combining sweet, chewy coconut macaroons with a rich chocolate ganache filling.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix together the shredded coconut, egg whites, sugar, and salt in a medium-sized bowl.
  3. Press the coconut mixture firmly into a tart pan to form the crust.
  4. Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes until it’s golden brown.
  5. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until warm.
  6. Pour the cream over the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
  7. Stir the mixture after a few minutes until smooth and shiny.
  8. Add the vanilla extract and mix well into the ganache.
  9. Pour the chocolate ganache into the cooled coconut crust.
  10. Chill the tart in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or berries for added flavor.
