Scale
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup Dutch cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 7 crushed Oreos (with the filling removed)
  • ½ cup softened butter (for frosting)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp Dutch cocoa powder (for frosting)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla (for frosting)
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (about 175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the softened butter and brown sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla to the creamed mixture and blend until incorporated.
  4. Mix the salt, baking soda, and Dutch cocoa powder in another bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
  5. Add the all-purpose flour slowly, mixing until incorporated without over-mixing.
  6. Incorporate the crushed Oreos into the cookie dough.
  7. Scoop dough onto the lined baking sheet, leaving enough space between each scoop.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are set but centers are slightly soft.
  9. Prepare the frosting by mixing softened butter, powdered sugar, Dutch cocoa powder, vanilla, heavy cream, and chocolate chips until smooth.
  10. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  11. Frost the cookies once completely cool using a knife or piping bag.

Notes

Remember to store cookies in an airtight container. They can be kept at room temperature for 3-5 days, in the refrigerator for up to a week, or frozen for 3 months without frosting.
