Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter. Beat until smooth.
  3. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
  4. Fold in the Apples: Gently fold in the diced apples.
  5. Heat the Skillet: Place a skillet on medium heat and add butter. Allow it to melt and coat the surface.
  6. Cook the Pancakes: Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form, about 2-3 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Serve: Serve warm with a dollop of butter and drizzle with syrup.
