Stuffed Jumbo Pasta Shells

A comforting dish of jumbo pasta shells filled with savory meatballs, smothered in rich tomato sauce, and topped with melty mozzarella.

Ingredients

  • Jumbo pasta shells
  • Meatballs
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Tomato sauce
  • Italian herbs (basil, oregano)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add a pinch of salt. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and let cool slightly.
  3. Spread a layer of tomato sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  4. Stuff each cooled jumbo pasta shell with meatballs and place them upright in the baking dish.
  5. Pour additional tomato sauce over the stuffed shells to cover them generously.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and add Italian herbs along with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Cover the baking dish tightly with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Feel free to use store-bought meatballs or experiment with different fillings and cheese blends for added flavor.
